TALK ABOUT IT IN OUR HORSE RACING FORUM

Our Man On The Spot looks ahead to Friday afternoon's action at Aintree and likes the look Mighty Matters.

2.00: Roll Along can reverse Royal & SunAlliance Chase form with Albertas Run and win this. Carl Llewellyn's charge was a revelation at Cheltenham, storming home to finish second, coming from an impossible position at the top of the hill. Connections are now confident these staying trips as his forte, he is still fresh, and the ground will he ideal. Albertas Run sets the standard but has a penalty to defy while Big Bucks will need to improve again for another step up in distance.

2.35: Petitfour can reward connections' decision to swerve Cheltenham. Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge unshipped his rider on the way to the start at Newbury last time but still won in the style of a most progressive young hurdler. He could be a value bet against Tazbar who is another one to come here fresh. He won well stepped up to this trip at Haydock last time and rates the main danger. Cheltenham winner Nenuphar Collonges would prefer a stiffer track but Thetotherone is interesting if exagerated waiting tactics are employed.

3.10: Master Minded cannot be opposed in a race to watch and not bet in. Paul Nicholls' charge was a breathtaking winner of the of the Champion Chase last time and the promise is of better to come. The trip shouldn't be a problem and he will win with a clear round. Voy Por Ustedes should be suited to going up in trip and is preferred to Tamarinbleu for the forecast spot.

3.45: This is trappy but Mighty Matters is a sporting selection. He ran better than the finishing position suggests at Cheltenham last time and is still racing from a feasible handicap mark. If he can get into a rhythm out in front he could be hard to peg back. Gwanako heads a strong team for Paul Nicholls, Pak Jack is a course specialist while Nacarat is also respected.

4.20: Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Captain Cee Bee looks vulnerable at this sharper track and Blue Bajan, sixth at Cheltenham, could be the one to take advantage. He is likely to be better served by Friday's circuit and ground and his Flat speed could be a key weapon. Greenbridge is going from strength-to-strength and is the main danger ahead of Pierrot Lunaire.

4.55: Alderburn shaped as though hitting peak form behind Cloudy Lane at Doncaster last time and can land this under Tony McCoy. Henry Daly' charge was a little keen at Town Moor and if settling here, has the ability to make them all go. Mr Strachan was an early faller at Cheltenham when all the rage for the Jewson and is on an attractive mark, Kings Euro is holding his form well and Silver Sedge could go well at a big price from the foot of the handicap.

5.30: Nicky Henderson has a strong hand here and jockey bookings suggest Ravello Bay is his number one contender but in a race that makes no appeal as a betting proposition, Call Me A Legend is put forward as a selection. Alan King's charge has had three runs to date, winning twice, and is improving with time and experience.
