TRIO ATTRACT AINTREE SUPPORT
TALK ABOUT IT IN OUR HORSE RACING FORUM
There was a wide spread of business as the build up to the Grand National continued on Tuesday.
Ladbrokes saw money for both Comply Or Die and Turko.
The former is proving popular at 10/1 after the confirmation that Timmy Murphy will ride.
And David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "With Murphy confirmed the support for Comply Or Die suddenly kicked off again. David Pipe's horse now has every chance of becoming clear second favourite behind Cloudy Lane."
Turko is 25/1 from 33s after connections secure services of Richard Johnson.
Williams explained: "Johnson is a worthy deputy to the unavailable Ruby Walsh and Paul Nicholls is clearly very keen to run the horse. The two factors combined have prompted punters to nibble away at the bigger prices."
Irish raider Chelsea Harbour is 14/1 from 16/1 with totesport for after good support on Tuesday.
Spokesman Damian Walker said: "Chelsea Harbour has done all his winning on soft or heavy ground but that doesn't seem to be putting punters off backing him.
"The Grand National trip doesn't look a problem though, as he stayed on dourly over three-and-a-half miles at Punchestown earlier this season.
Other Grand National movers with Totesport!
were McKelvey (18/1 from 22/1), D'Argent (25/1 from 33/1) and Joacci (50/1 from 66/1).
Meanwhile with Cloudy Lane potentially the shortest Grand National favourite since Red Rum in 1975, Skybet have opened a book on how far Donald McCain's charge will win by and quote 10/1 for it to be up to and including five lengths.
Having been backed in from 6/1 to 5/1 with Skybet over the past 24 hours, Cloudy Lane is 14/1 to win by between five and ten lengths and it's 16/1 for the Trevor Hemmings-owned horse to win by over 10 lengths.
Hemmings, whose other hopes are Idle Talk and 2005 hero Hedgehunter, is priced at 9/2 to own the winner.
Skybet 's PR Director Dale Tempest said: "With Cloudy Lane 20lb well in on the handicap, he could win by the widest margin we've seen for many years."
Skybet are also offering odds on the starting price of Cloudy Lane and quote 7/2 for him to go off at under 4/1, 11/8 for it to be between 4/1 and 11/2 at the off and 16/1 for him to have drifted to over 17/2.
Despite the race being run over four-and-a-half miles, there is always a mad dash to the first fence and Skybet have opened a book on how many runners will fail to negotiate the opening obstacle, with two their 3/1 favourite after the same number of horses fell foul of the first fence last year.
