WETHERBY: 2.10 Lily Tara, 2.40 Compromiznotension, 3.15 Brook No Argument, 3.50 Mr Barnacle, 4.25 La Pantera Rosa, 4.55 Sir Tantallus Hawk.

DOUBLE: Pure Imagination and Benandonner.

Pure Imagination stands out as a cracking proposition in the Bet Grand National - Betdaq Handicap at Folkestone.

In a race that will not take a power of winning, the Dandy Nicholls-trained seven-year-old will probably only require a repeat of his latest effort to take the prize.

Returning last week from a break of nearly a year at Musselburgh, the Royal Academy gelding unsurprisingly looked a little ring-rusty but flew home to bag second behind Cha Cha Cha.

The easy winner subsequently ran a sound race in a better contest at Doncaster to add a little substance to the form.

Combined with the fact Pure Imagination is entitled to be much sharper here, Nicholls' gelding is entitled to go very close.

Assessing the merit of early-season juvenile form is never easy, but the Brocklesby Stakes often throws up a clutch of future winners.

One that shaped very well in this year's two-year-old dash was Riflessione, who made good late headway to finish a creditable fifth for Stan Moore.

The Captain Rio colt was not given an unnecessarily hard time at Doncaster but is now sure to know more about the game when he runs in the EBF betdaq.co.uk Maiden.

His previous experience will stand him in good stead and a bold bid is on the cards.

All-weather action comes from Southwell, where Benandonner is a most interesting runner in a well-contested renewal of the arenaleisureplc.com Handicap.

Richard Fahey's gelding finished second to the impressive Don't Panic in the Spring Mile just over a week ago, winning 'his race' by a wide margin on the far rail.

Admittedly, it is hard to know whether he can reproduce the same form stepping back onto an artificial surface.

However, Benandonner has previously run very well on the all-weather and as he looks teasingly well handicapped, punters are advised to side with him in the one-mile heat.

Compromiznotension was pretty decent on the level and finally seems to be getting the hang of things over hurdles for Howard Johnson.

He has been a beaten favourite the last twice but can be deemed unlucky last time at Wetherby when the race was in the bag before he blundered his way through the final flight.

He returns to West Yorkshire for the Wetherby Racecourse Sportsmen's Dinner - Thursday 17th April Novices' Hurdle and he should take all the beating.

Brook No Argument scored impressively at Huntingdon last time, showing a likeable attitude when push came to shove.

John Quinn's charge has subsequently been raised 7lb in the weights but is sufficiently lightly raced to be of interest again in the Benfield Ford Wetherby Handicap Hurdle.
